Betty Jane Kerr, 89, of Indianapolis, passed away on October 26, 2016. Born in Bloomington, IN to Everett and Clara Shigley; wife to Rev. Dr. Paul E. Kerr for 63 years; two children, Jane (Jay) Wignall of Indpls and Paul E. Kerr II of Columbus, OH; three grandchildren, Andrew Kerr (Sally) Wignall, Ashley (Adam) Shaul and Elizabeth Kerr; three great grandchildren, Abby, Charlie, and Bryant; a sister, Mary Ellen Moore of Blacksburg, VA; and two nieces and two nephews on the Shigley side. B.J.  was preceded in death by her husband and sister, Virginia.

B.J. attended Indiana Business College in the executive secretarial course. She retired from the US Army Defense Department. She was also a full-time minister’s wife for more than 50 years. B.J. was a member of Northwood Christian Church, Indpls.

A private burial will be held at Crown Hill Cemetery on Saturday, October 29, 2016. A celebration of her life will be held at Robin Run Village on Saturday, October 29 from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Donations may be made in B.J.’s name to the Indianapolis Humane Society; she loved all animals, especially cats.
